As well as hiding chocolate, (and all the other wonderful uses), plastic Easter eggs are great for practicing number sense.
On one side of the eggs, I printed the numbers 0 through 10.
On the other side I put the corresponding number of dots. I decided to use a ten frame format to reinforce that way of visualizing numbers.

On one side of the eggs, I printed the numbers 0 through 10.
On the other side I put the corresponding number of dots. I decided to use a ten frame format to reinforce that way of visualizing numbers.
The number are matched with the dots. This time I decided to use the same colour for the number half of the egg and the dots half of the egg. Next week, I might change it up a bit ... make it a bit more challenging.
The finished eggs go into the basket.

Cute idea! I might do that with the digit and word. ... Or maybe the doubles facts.
ReplyDeleteDoubles sounds like fun - my kids would like that too.
DeleteGreat idea....could you put items inside that correspond with the matched numbers/ dots too, to extend the activity...?
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
